Initiative Petitions
The Hendry County Supervisor of Elections verifies of thousands of initiative petitions each year. The petitions, signed by Hendry voters, are submitted to our office by various organizations and committees seeking the required number of valid signatures in order to be placed on a General Election ballot. Voter signatures on the petitions are compared to the voter’s signature on the voter registration file.
Pursuant to Florida Statute 100.371(11)(b), Hendry County’s actual cost of signature verification of an initiative petition is $0.30.
Visit the Division of Elections – Florida Department of State website for a list of current initiative petitions as well as the Florida initiative petition process, forms, procedures, rules, etc.
